Description:

Trench. A winding feature of varying depth, with steps connecting the deepest points. Measurements: w. 150 cm, d. 48 cm; and one metre to the south, w. 195 cm, d. 95 cm. The trench continues NE towards the 57th Monument down a steep hill. The trench becomes more clearly defined as it runs down the hill. Measurements: w. 292 cm, d. 150 cm. Trench is cut into the hillside and filled with leaves. Vegetation thickens as it descends. Tunnel entrance (feature 373) connects with this trench, which is a major communication line between the frontlines and the valley
