Description:
Ceramic sherds x 2, SRD jar fragments. Sherd 1: Base sherd with pale cream glaze, no maker's mark. Wheel striations on interior surface. Dimensions: body was 10.9cm high x 15.6cm wide; base 7.8cm wide; wall 1.7cm thick. Sherd 2: shoulder sherd, brown glazed stoneware. Dimensions 9.5cm x 4.4cm x 0.6cm wall thickness; boday section 3.4cm long. Should/boday ridge 0.3cm wide. Found at the base of a large 'rhododendron tree' on the edge of a depression that may be a trench (now overgrown and very indistinct).
