Description:
Metal sieve. Lower half of a large bucket or water container or colander with handmade perforations. Container with sheet metal sides attached to a kidney-shaped flat base with a folded rim and ferrous oxidation. There were lines of short, almost rectangular perforations, hand-made (not machined) stamped into the sides all the way around. It would have originally have had at least 20 perforations but only 10 survive on one side and 7 on the other. The container has been flattened. It appears to have originally been a tin bucket and with the perforations it could have been a sieve, colander or improvised shower. Found in the bush near the fire-break road.
